Overload protection for electric winches: torque limiters of choice
Author:
Overload is a relatively broad term, which can refer to excessive load on electrical equipment or excessive force on objects. For electric winches, overload protection is usually a method of monitoring the excessive load current of the winch circuit, monitoring the excessive temperature of the electric winch motor, or the excessive tension load of the winch and automatically disconnecting the power supply, so as to protect the electric winch from burning down the DC motor and gears due to overload. Bitten to death, and the wire rope breaks, resulting in a fatal accident.
1. Monitor the excessive load current of the winch circuit
The overload protection of the circuit is usually to use the switching element to check the current of the closed circuit. When the set current value is exceeded, the action of physically cutting off the circuit is made through a certain mechanism. There are common fuses and recoverable circuit breakers, commonly known as "insurance".
A fuse (fuse) refers to an electrical appliance that fuses the melt with the heat generated by itself and disconnects the circuit when the current exceeds a specified value, usually a one-time component.
Residual current circuit-breaker is a switch that can automatically open the circuit when the current in the circuit exceeds a predetermined value. After disconnecting and troubleshooting, it can be resumed and used manually.
